Very happy to see my work entitled “Unity” bei

Very happy to see my work entitled “Unity” being used in the new edition of the Climate Literacy Guide in the states.

It’s featured on the first page and the release of this new guide coincides with the start of Climate Week in New York City ( theclimategroup.org ) a large event that started today.

I was contacted over a year ago to create this piece and after a lot of red tape it’s finally being utilized! My contact said he hopes it “can build climate literacy in the United States and abroad.”

Text that accompanies the image:

Artist’s statement: “This piece shows an Indigenous view of the Earth system. Human beings, grouped as family and community, are an integral but not superior part of the system. There are seven people, indicating the Seventh Generation Principle that our decisions should cultivate a sustainable world seven generations into the future.” Artist Star Horn is a Kanien’kehá:ka (“People of the Flint” aka “Mohawk”) woman born and raised in Kahnawake in Quebec, Canada.
