Throwback Thursday!!! Proud of my design work on g Throwback Thursday!!! Proud of my design work on getting these labels to have a unified and consistent brand/look a few years ago. Incorporating an updated Founders’ Selection blurb and graphic was meant to honour the foundation of the business. One customer even wrote in at one point saying they were “Really impressed with the way (your) corporate branding extends across the labels of every one of your products.” As a designer, you can’t ask for a more genuine compliment to have someone you have never met notice your work. 💪. Very proud to say that not only did my artwork end Very proud to say that not only did my artwork end up on this can (now found in LCBO’s across Ontario) but that I made sure to use a word in our language in my mini bio on said can. 🪶Kanien’keháka, meaning “People of the Flint” are one of the five founding Nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. 🪶 It might be a minuscule accomplishment but if it teaches someone about identity and Indigenous history/reality then that makes me happy. Is it easier to just say and use the English term ‘Mohawk’ which was given to us? Sure. But we can do better. Thank you to @ladiesdrinkbeer and @hendersonbrewing for raising everyone up. . . Ps. The cause of its death was not apparent and it had not yet succumbed to the elements. They are such beautiful, intelligent animals with strong voices (there’s always a bunch in my yard).
